PNB, Bank of Maharashtra post double-digit loan growth in Q3

Punjab National Bank posts 13.5% YoY growth in advances to Rs 9.72 lakh for December quarter; Bank of Maharashtra’s loan book grows 20% to Rs 1.88 lakh crore.


Punjab National Bank (PNB) has reported a 13.5% year-on-year growth in advances to Rs 9.72 lakh crore for the December quarter.

The state-owned bank’s loan book stood at Rs 8.56 lakh crore at the end of the third quarter of the last financial year.

PNB's deposits rose lower at 9.4% to Rs 13.23 lakh crore during the quarter ended December 2023, from Rs 12.10 lakh crore a year ago.

The total business of the bank increased 11.1% to Rs 22.95 lakh crore at the end of December.

Bank of Maharashtra, another public sector bank, posted a 20.28% growth in advances to Rs 1.88 lakh crore as against Rs 1.56 lakh crore a year ago.

The Pune-headquartered bank reported a 17.90% growth in deposits to Rs 2.45 lakh crore. This stood at Rs 2.08 lakh crore a year ago.
