Axis Bank extends Amitabh Chaudhry’s term as CEO for 3 more years

Amitabh Chaudhry’s new three-year term as MD and CEO is effective from 1 January 2025 up to 31 December 2027.

Axis Bank has re-appointed Amitabh Chaudhry as its chief executive officer and managing director for another three years.

Chaudhry’s new tenure is effective from 1 January 2025. It will run up to 31 December 2027.

The decision is subject to approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the lender said.

Chaudhry, 59, had joined Axis Bank as its MD and CEO in January 2019, after having led HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company (HDFC Life) for over nine years.

He obtained his engineering degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and Post Graduate in Business Management from IIM, Ahmedabad.

Axis Bank’s board also approved the re-appointment of Meena Ganesh and Gopalaraman Padmanabhan as Independent Directors for four years each, subject to approval from members of the bank.
