Brajesh Singh is new MD & CEO of Canara Bank

Govt appoints Brajesh Kumar Singh as chief of state-owned Canara Bank for three years until 30 April 2029; he was ED of Indian Bank.

Brajesh Kumar Singh has taken charge as managing director and CEO of Canara Bank, after a government notification dated 30 May.

Singh has been appointed for a three-year period until 30 April 2029 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh fills in a position that was vacant since K Satyanarayana Raju’s superannuation on 31 December 2025.

Prior to his current role, Singh was executive director of Indian Bank from March 2024 where he led business growth, governance strengthening and digital and operational transformation.

An agriculture graduate from Allahabad Agricultural Institute and an MBA in finance, Singh has over three decades of banking experience across corporate credit, retail banking, human resources, business development and strategic operations.

Under his leadership, Canara Bank will continue to focus on accelerating digital transformation, expanding financial inclusion, maintaining robust asset quality, enhancing customer experience and creating sustainable value for all stakeholders, the state-owned lender said.
