HDFC Bank's internet banking services face glitches again

Some HDFC Bank customers complained via social media that they had issues in accessing the bank’s net and mobile banking services.

HDFC Bank, which in January said it was working on war footing to strengthen its technology platform, has suffered an outage again on Tuesday. Some customers have complained via social media that they had issues in accessing the bank’s internet banking and mobile banking services.

HDFC Bank said on Tuesday that it is currently working on resolving the issue. "Some of our customers are facing intermittent issues while accessing net banking or mobile banking app. We are looking into it on priority for resolution. We apologise for the inconvenience and request you to try again after some time," the bank tweeted.

Some HDFC Bank customers expressed their anger through tweets. Manu Singh (@ManuSingh611) said he was also facing issue in mobile banking. "Kindly do the needful, why you are giving @RBI another chance take action. Is the management serious or busy in calculating their incentives," he tweeted.

HDFC Bank has earlier also faced intermittent outages and technical glitches in its mobile app and net banking platform. Concerned with this, the Reserve Bank of India in December directed HDFC Bank to halt all launches of its digital business generating activities under ‘Digital 2.0’, along with sourcing new credit card customers. The regulator’s directive came after the private sector lender suffered its third big outage within two years.
