IndusInd Bank sets up banking vertical for GCCs

Growing 32% since FY2021, India has 2,117 GCCs and is emerging as a global capability hub.

IndusInd Bank has set up a dedicated banking vertical for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), sensing opportunity in the expansion in this space.

Growing 32% since FY2021, India has 2,117 GCCs and is emerging as a global capability hub.

The new vertical will bring together corporate and employee banking, covering digital banking, employee banking, commercial cards, capital account and FEMA solutions. It will have foreign-currency accounts through its International Banking Unit at GIFT City.

India's GCC ecosystem has evolved beyond traditional shared-services operations, with centres increasingly taking on technology, engineering, analytics, finance, research and other strategic functions for global organisations, said IndusInd Bank Country Head - Corporate Banking, Niraj Shah.

"As the sector continues to grow in scale and strategic importance, its banking requirements are also becoming more nuanced. IndusInd Bank aims to support these evolving needs through a more integrated banking approach...," Shah said.
