Govt appoints Rama Mohan Rao Amara as managing director of State Bank of India for a period of three years; he will fill the vacancy created by CS Setty, the current chairman of the bank.
State Bank of India today said the government has appointed Rama Mohan Rao Amara as its managing director.
The appointment is for a period of three years, with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Amara is currently deputy managing director of SBI.
Amara will fill the vacancy created by CS Setty, the current chairman of the bank.
The SBI board is headed by a Chairman assisted by four managing directors. With the selection of Amara, SBI will get its fourth MD.
