The central bank has imposed a penalty of Rs 29.60 lakh on Yes Bank for non-compliance with certain regulatory directions on 'Financial Statements Presentation and Disclosures'.
Deutsche Bank AG, India has been slapped a penalty of Rs 50 lakh for non-compliance with certain directions on 'Creation of a Central Repository of Large Common Exposures-Across Banks'.
In both cases, the RBI said the penalties are based on deficiencies in regulatory compliance and not intended to pronounce upon the validity of any transaction or agreement entered into by the banks with their customers.
Further, imposition of monetary penalty is without prejudice to any other action that may be initiated by RBI against the banks, it added.
