SBI pays Rs 8,813 crore dividend to Govt for FY26

State Bank of India hands over dividend cheque of Rs 8,813 crore to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the financial year 2025-26.


State Bank of India (SBI) has handed over a dividend cheque of Rs 8,813 crore to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the financial year 2025-26.

The dividend cheque was presented by SBI Chairman C S Setty to Sitharaman.

"Smt Nirmala Sitharaman receives a dividend cheque of Rs 8,813 crore for FY 2025-26 from Shri C S Setty, Chairman, SBI," the Ministry of Finance said in a post on X.

Earlier, SBI declared a dividend of Rs 17.35 per equity share for the year ended 31 March 2026.

The Government of India is the largest shareholder in SBI with an ownership of approximately 55% stake in the bank.

SBI posted a net profit of Rs 80,032 crore for FY26, up 12.88% from the year-ago period.

The bank’s total business crossed Rs 109 trillion during FY26, with deposits at Rs 59.8 trillion and advances at Rs 49.3 trillion.
