State-owned UCO Bank reported a 2.82% rise in net profit to Rs 620 crore for the second quarter ended September from Rs 603 crore a year ago, aided by higher net interest income (NII).
The Kolkata-based bank’s NII grew 10.08% to Rs 2,533 crore in the September quarter from Rs 2,301 crore in the prior year.
Net interest margin (NIM) stood at 2.90% globally and domestic margin at 3.08% for the quarter ended 30 September 2025.
Operating profit stood at Rs 1,613 crore, up 12.6% from Rs 1,432 crore.
Bad loans
The lender’s asset quality improved, with the gross non-performing assets (NPA) ratio declining to 2.56% as of 30 September 2025, from 3.18% a year earlier.
Net NPA ratio also improved to 0.43% from 0.73% in the same period last year.
The provision coverage ratio stood at 96.99% as of 30 September 2025.
Total biz at Rs 5.36 lakh crore
The bank’s total business grew 13.23% to Rs 5.36 lakh crore from Rs 4.74 lakh crore a year earlier.
Loan book at Rs 2.31 lakh crore
The bank’s loan book jumped 16.56% to Rs 2.31 lakh crore, from Rs 1.98 lakh crore in the same period last year. Sequentially, advances were up 2.67% from Rs 2.25 lakh crore in the June quarter.
The RAM (retail, agriculture and MSME) portfolio grew 22.87% YoY to Rs 1.33 lakh crore as of 30 September. Within this segment, retail loans jumped 25.40% YoY to Rs 58,987 crore, agri grew by 17.28% to Rs 31,650 crore and MSME by 23.80% to Rs 42,309 crore.
Deposits at Rs 3.05 lakh crore
Total deposits increased by 10.85% YoY to Rs 3.05 lakh crore as on 30 September 2025.
CD ratio
The bank's credit-to-deposit ratio improved to 75.47% from 71.77% a year earlier.
