The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the reappointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as ICICI Bank’s chief executive for ‌a ⁠further period ⁠of two years, with effect from 4 October.

Bakhshi will remain ICICI's CEO until 3 October. In January, the board of the country’s second-largest bank had ⁠approved Bakhshi's reappointment, subject to approval from the RBI.

Bakshi has led ICICI Bank since October 2018, after the infamous exit of Chanda Kochchar.
